corner of Bleeker and LaGuardia
now serving food!
A Traditional English Pub menu was unveiled today.
We are going there for dinner tonight to try it out. Review to follow.
Check out the menu for yourself…
* The Goat Cheese Fritters and Marinara Sauce were delicious!
*I ordered the burger medium well, but it came well done. Usually this means that you're in for a dry burger. This was not the case. The burger was one of the juiciest burgers I've ever had. The stilton on the burger was not too overwhelming, which was good. Stilton is a powerful cheese and I was afraid it might overtake the burger. I actually wished there was a little more stilton on the burger. The bun was toasted and delicious; it was just enough bun. The pickled onion and greens were a nice compliment, but a part of me wished that the pickled onion was pickled sweet. I think it would have been a nice compliment to the saltiness of the stilton. Over all, it was a good burger and so were the fries.
* The hangar steak was very tender which is sometimes hard to find, since hangar steaks tend to be on the tough and chewy side. The only criticism of the steak was that it didn't feel grilled. It had almost a stewed feel to it, possibly because it was swimming in the wine reduction sauce. The sauce soaked half the fries as well. Maybe the sauce would be better served on the side?
Overall, the dining experience went well. The food was good, the efficiency and friendliness of the staff was great. We will absolutely go again.
What we had…Boylan's Cola and Ginger Ale, the Goat Cheese Fritters, GMT Burger w/fries, and the Hangar Steak. Here is the run down …
